FALA, the Fairbanks Association of Legal Assistants is the Farthest North NALA Affiliate. FALA coordinates and sponsors continuing legal education and professional development programs for the paralegals, legal assistants, and legal secretaries of Fairbanks. Originally formed in 1985 by legal assistants of the Interior. FALA’s goals include:

· Promoting fellowship among association members, NALA, and Fairbanks’ legal community;

· Encouraging a high order of ethical and professional conduct;

· Furthering legal education among its members and the public;

· Supporting members in their goal of certification;

· Networking with other legal assistants.
